About

Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) is the flag carrier of Sweden, Norway and Denmark. In 2011 a design refresh assignment, including a new strategic platform, was initiated to upgrade the on-ground and on-board service offer. The assignment included the whole customer journey such as Check-In area, Fast Track, Lounges and last but not least - the cabin interior.

The SAS cabin interior is divided into three service offers; SAS Go, SAS Plus and SAS Business Class. SAS Business Class is the jewel in the crown of the strategic platform named ”The New Travel Class”. To create a premium long haul product 30.000 feet up in the air is probably one of the most challenging design assignments. Flight safety, fire restrictions, material weight/cost, ergonomy, environment and staff considerations are just a few of all parameters that needed to be fulfilled to create the SAS cabin interior. All done with a contemporary Scandinavian expression and with attention to details.
